Leafs promote Malgin, still no Sandin

[ad_1]

The Toronto Maple Leafs made some changes to the line rushes as they prepare for another pre-season game. Mike DiStefano and David Morassutti look at that and how much we should read into the changes. First they discuss some non-hockey news as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees and keeping Aaron Judge from making history. Dave will be in attendance on Tuesday with Auston Matthews set to throw the first pitch and they wonder what the hockey equivalent would be (0:00)? If you were to catch the Judge ball what would you do with it (10:10)?

Moving on to Leafs talk, Mike and Dave look at the latest news with Jake Muzzin and Pierre Engvall getting back to skating while Adam Gaudette is sidelined with a shoulder injury (13:55). Mike’s prediction of Rasmus Sandin not being in camp by Tuesday did not come to fruition so he and Dave wonder if this now comes down to more than just opportunity as some believed to be reason behind his holdout (18:00).

To end the show, Mike and Dave break down the line combinations with some familiar names back together while Denis Malgin gets his chance with John Tavares and William Nylander (26:17). What do we need to see from Malgin in order for him to stay in top 6 (29:44)? They also look at Fraser Minten getting some praise from the coaching staff and Tavares plus Jordie Benn being paired with Morgan Rielly (31:25).
